Heather brings over 20 years of diverse experience to the table, making her a true all-rounder in the communications field. She has worked across corporate and consumer PR, issues management, and event promotion, helping some of the world’s most recognised brands tell their stories and navigate complex challenges.

Her portfolio spans global and national brands like Tourism Australia, Tourism New Zealand, Carnival Cruise Lines, Alibaba Group, Yates, and FoodBank, Bonza, Qatar Airways, P&O and more – showcasing her ability to craft impactful campaigns that resonate. Heather’s expertise lies in delivering strategic communications solutions that drive results, no matter the brief.

Pete Wallis

CONTENT CREATOR | EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER

Pete has 25 years editorial, corporate and commercial experience specialising in editorial, events, sports and commercial photography and film. He was a senior photographer at Courier Mail and during his 16 years there, worked across a number of high profile stories photographing a number of events, celebrities, politicians and communities. Pete has photographed The Curated Plate in previous years – he knows and understands the media and social media opportunities.

Pete applies his journalistic lens to events and client briefs to create content that results in editorial coverage and social media engagement. For The Comms People, Pete has shot content for FAN, Visit Moreton Bay, Oceanview Helicopters, Amaze World, The Big Boing, Lavender Co and has worked with Mayor Natoli on multiple occasions including events for the Sunshine Coast Business Awards.

Jennifer Swaine

Jennifer is a highly respected communications professional with a wealth of experience across industries and business sizes. From small businesses to large corporations, she helps clients define and share their narratives with purpose and precision.

In addition to her client work, Jennifer plays a pivotal role in the Sunshine Coast community. She is the Chair of the Sunshine Coast Business Awards, a Non-Executive Director of Visit Sunshine Coast, and the Business & Tourism Lead for Sunshine Coast 2032. A passionate advocate for small business, Jennifer also contributes regularly as a writer across various business-focused publications.

Josh Baird

Josh Baird is a key member of The Comms. People’s extended team, bringing a wealth of expertise in video and film production – including producing video reels for The Curated Plate in past years.

Josh’s work has taken him across Australia and the globe, filming tourism and destination content for a range of prestigious events and organisations. His portfolio includes capturing the iconic Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, Hamilton Island Race Week, and the Mount Isa Rodeo. He has also worked with notable clients such as Sunshine Coast Airport, Bonza, and many more, demonstrating his ability to bring brands to life through engaging, dynamic visual content.

His passion for visual storytelling is matched by his commitment to delivering results that exceed client expectations, making him a trusted and sought-after talent in the industry. Whether it’s a large-scale event or a corporate project, Josh brings creativity, expertise, and meticulous attention to detail to every production.
