The Comms. People appointed to The Curated Plate

10 December 2024: The Sunshine Coast’s annual food and drink festival has appointed The Comms. People to bring a fresh approach to its marketing and communications in 2025. The appointment comes after renowned Sunshine Coast chef Peter Kuruvita was announced to take on the new role of the Culinary Director for The Curated Plate.

The Comms. People is a communications agency with a strong focus on storytelling through words, images and video. Their in-house photo journalist and videographers, together with their public relations expertise, will concentrate on attracting locals and visitors to the 10-day festival that supports Sunshine Coast food, drink, hospitality, tourism and related sectors.

“We’re big fans of The Curated Plate and recognise the role it plays in raising the profile of the Sunshine Coast’s food and agri-tourism offering. We’re grateful for the opportunity to work with the Sunshine Coast Council to take the event to the next level by making it the biggest celebration of local flavours we’ve seen,” said Heather Mollins, Co-Founder of The Comms. People.

“Through the marketing, communications and the event itself, we hope to play a role in honouring the heart of the Sunshine Coast – local growers, producers and lifestyle. We look forward to supporting local businesses who are selected to be part of the event program as well as collaborating with Visit Sunshine Coast and the Food and Agribusiness Network,” she added.

A key part of The Comms. People’s brief is supporting local businesses to market their events which form part of the festival program. Currently, businesses are asked to submit their Expression of Interest to be involved with Kuruvita charged with supporting local chefs and venues on conceptualising ideas for events, particularly around menu development using local products.

The Comms. People also work with Turbine, a Commonwealth-supported food and beverage manufacturing precinct; The Food and Agribusiness Network; Noosa Chocolate Factory; Oceanview Helicopters; and Maeva Hospitality amongst others.

Ends.
